Terms governing this website and the engine.
By accessing this website or engaging the CorroNexus corrosion intelligence engine, a visitor and any client agrees to the terms below. These terms define permitted use, intellectual-property ownership, the limits of what the engine's outputs are intended for, and the boundaries of liability.
01Acceptance
By using this website (corronexus.com, including any subdomain or path) or by engaging the CorroNexus corrosion intelligence engine or any associated engineering service, a visitor and any client accepts these terms of use in full. A visitor who does not accept the terms should not use the website or engage the service.
02Nature of the service
CorroNexus is an independent engineering practice. Its core offering is the CorroNexus corrosion intelligence engine — a connected system of corrosion- and integrity-engineering modules (including DM Screener, DM Assay, Tagline IOW, RBI Assessor, Process Models, RCA, the CCD Model, and the CorroTwin digital twin) — delivered as a service by a senior specialist, alongside specialist corrosion-engineering engagements delivered as structured reports with senior sign-off. The service is directed at qualified engineering professionals working on oil and gas fixed equipment and related industrial assets.
The outputs produced by the engine are engineering indicators intended to support the professional judgement of a responsible integrity engineer. They are not a substitute for that judgement, for independent verification, or for the authoritative guidance of the published standards in their current editions.
No output issues a certification, conformity statement, or compliance declaration under any published standard, regulatory regime, or industry scheme. Engine outputs are engineering indicators only; they do not, and cannot, constitute evidence of compliance with API, AMPP, ASME, ISO, or any other body's published requirements. Authoritative guidance must be obtained directly from the standards bodies responsible for the relevant documents.
03Acceptable use
Where access to the engine, its outputs, or any deliverable is provided, the client agrees to the following acceptable-use conditions:
- No reverse-engineering. The engine's modules, datasets, calibration coefficients, decision trees, effectiveness matrices, verification registers, and proprietary methodologies may not be decompiled, disassembled, decrypted, unpacked, or otherwise reverse-engineered.
- No AI-training use. No engine output, reference text, illustration, decision logic, or data array may be used to train, fine-tune, or otherwise incorporate into any machine-learning model, dataset, or artificial-intelligence system without prior written permission.
- No redistribution. Outputs, reference text, illustrations, decision logic, and deliverables may not be redistributed, resold, sublicensed, or incorporated into third-party products without prior written permission.
- No misuse of outputs. Engine outputs are engineering indicators and may not be presented or used in any way that misrepresents them as conforming certifications, compliance statements, endorsed results, or regulatory filings.
Breach of any acceptable-use condition entitles CorroNexus to suspend or terminate the service immediately and without notice, and to seek injunctive relief and damages under applicable intellectual-property law.
04Intellectual property
All content on this website and within the CorroNexus engine — including original text, illustrations, datasets, code, component architecture, decision logic, methodologies, visual design, and the CorroNexus and CorroTwin names and logos — is the intellectual property of CorroNexus and is protected under applicable copyright, database-right, and trade-mark law.
Specifically identified as proprietary CorroNexus works: each engine module (DM Screener, DM Assay, Tagline IOW, RBI Assessor, Process Models, RCA, and the CCD Model) including its decision logic, input taxonomies, calibration data, and output schemes; the CorroTwin digital twin and its data model; and all CorroNexus report templates, layouts, and interactive visualisations.
Where published engineering standards (such as those of API, AMPP / NACE, ASME, ISO, and similar bodies) are referenced, those references identify the methodological framework or published research relied on. Such references do not transfer any ownership interest in those standards to CorroNexus and do not constitute a licensing, sublicensing, or certification relationship with the standards body.
Client inputs and outputs. Clients retain ownership of the engineering data, assessment inputs, and operational information they provide. CorroNexus processes such inputs only to compute requested outputs and for the purposes agreed in the engagement, and does not claim ownership of client inputs. CorroNexus will not use client inputs to train, fine-tune, or otherwise adjust any artificial-intelligence model, engine calibration, or published methodology without the client's prior express written consent.
05Disclaimer of warranties
Content, outputs, and capabilities are offered "as is" and "as available". CorroNexus makes no warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — regarding the fitness of any output for any particular purpose, the completeness or accuracy of any indicator, or the absence of errors in any content. In particular: no warranty that an engineering indicator is equivalent to a definitive engineering assessment; no warranty that any decision tree, effectiveness matrix, or mechanism walkthrough covers every condition a given asset may present; and no warranty of fitness for any regulatory, certification, or compliance purpose. All professional engineering decisions remain the responsibility of the qualified integrity engineer whose judgement applies to the asset.
06Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CorroNexus, its founder, and any personnel or contractors associated with the practice are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with the use of this website or the engine — including without limitation loss of revenue, profit, or business; loss of production or process availability; business interruption or loss of goodwill; loss, corruption, or unauthorised disclosure of data; reputational harm; downstream engineering or inspection-programme outcomes; damage to assets, equipment, personnel, or third-party property; or any third-party claim arising from the client's use of outputs.
For clients who have paid CorroNexus fees, and where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, the total cumulative liability of CorroNexus is limited to the fees actually paid by the affected client to CorroNexus in the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. For users who have not paid CorroNexus any fees — including users accessing any content on a complimentary, trial, or evaluation basis — the total cumulative liability of CorroNexus is, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, limited to zero.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.
07Indemnity
Each client agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CorroNexus, its founder, and any associated personnel or contractors against any claim, loss, damage, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) breach of these terms, (b) misuse of any output, (c) any decision made by the client or any third party on the basis of an output without the independent professional judgement that the output is explicitly stated to require, (d) violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right, or (e) the sharing, redistribution, or republication of CorroNexus proprietary content in breach of Section 03 or Section 04.
08Third-party content and links
This website may reference published standards, research papers, and engineering publications for methodological context. Such references are informational; they do not imply affiliation, endorsement, or licensing. Any links to external sites are provided for convenience, and CorroNexus accepts no responsibility for the content, availability, accuracy, or practices of those external sites.
09Changes to these terms
CorroNexus may revise these terms from time to time. Material revisions are indicated by an updated date and version number at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or the service after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For a substantial change to the liability regime, the acceptable-use rules, or the IP allocation, CorroNexus will use reasonable efforts to notify active clients by email before the change takes effect.
10Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms — where not resolved informally within thirty days of written notice — is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Egypt, save that CorroNexus reserves the right to bring proceedings in the jurisdiction in which a breach has occurred or in which enforcement of a remedy is sought. For commercial engagements entered into under a separate signed engagement agreement, the dispute-resolution terms of that agreement prevail over this section.
11Export control, sanctions, and trade compliance
Clients represent and warrant that their use of the service is lawful in their jurisdiction and that they are not: a resident of, or acting on behalf of any entity located in, a jurisdiction subject to comprehensive sanctions administered by the United States OFAC, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the United Nations Security Council; listed on any applicable consolidated sanctions list; or using the service for any purpose prohibited by applicable export-control law. CorroNexus reserves the right to refuse or terminate service where continued service would risk a breach of any applicable sanctions or export-control regime.
12Severability & entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable or invalid, that provision is severed and the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Notice and any separately signed engagement agreement, constitute the entire agreement between the client and CorroNexus in respect of the website and the service, and supersede any prior understandings on the same subject matter.
